Services & Categories

Services (also called "Actions" in the system) are the foundation of your booking system. Learn how to create, manage, and organize them.

Creating Services

Services are the core offerings that clients can book. Each service should be assigned to a category and can be configured with pricing, duration, and provider assignments.

Important Note

In the backend system, services are referred to as "Actions". This terminology may appear in technical documentation or API references.

Service Requirements

  • Name: A unique name for the service within your branch
  • Category: Should be assigned to an existing category
  • Duration: Service length in minutes
  • Price: Service pricing (can be set to 0 for free services)

Creating Your First Service

  1. Navigate to Services in your dashboard
  2. Click "New Service" or "Add Service"
  3. Enter the service name (should be unique within your branch)
  4. Select a category from the dropdown
  5. Set the duration in minutes
  6. Set the price (if applicable)
  7. Save the service

Once created, you can assign the service to specific providers and make it available for online booking through your booking widget.

Categories

Categories help organize your services and make them easier to find. Common categories include Haircuts & Styling, Facials & Skincare, Nail Services, and more.

Creating Categories

Before creating services, you'll need at least one category. Categories can be created in the Categories section of your dashboard.

Category Organization

Services should be assigned to a category. This helps clients find services more easily in your booking widget and helps you organize your service offerings.

Managing Services

Editing Services

You can update service details including name, category, duration, and price at any time. Changes to pricing or duration may affect future bookings but typically do not affect existing appointments.

Service Visibility

Services can be made available or unavailable for booking. When a service is unavailable, it won't appear in your booking widget or calendar scheduling options.

Provider Assignment

After creating a service, you can assign it to specific providers. Typically, only assigned providers are available for booking that service. If no providers are assigned, the service may not be bookable.

Best Practices

  • Use clear, descriptive service names that clients will understand
  • Set accurate durations to help with scheduling and availability
  • Organize services into logical categories
  • Keep pricing up to date
  • Assign services to appropriate providers
  • Review and update service availability regularly
